Heavy Duty lathe starts work

The long product cell is now complete with this heavy duty lathe. Technical specification and pictures to follow.............

This new manual lathe has a three shear bed and hydraulic turn through steadies that allow large volumes of metal removal whilst maintaining accuracy and tight TIR requirements. The heavy duty construction and auxiliary equipment mean this machine is good for preparation and finishing work on high strength material.

The lathe is located in the long products cell where the 8m-12m product range is managed in a single shop.
