World Class milling machine commences work in Rotherham

A state of the art 10m milling machine has been installed in Darron's Rotherham facility. This highly accurate machine requires solid foundations and a swimming pool size hole was dug to accept £40,000 worth of cement and reinforcing bar to guarantee the stability of the machine bed.

The orthogonal head has almost infinite positioning possibilities and with full D'Andrea head attachments full 5 / 6 axis machining can be conducted.

This machine has proved its worth already with an 8m long multi-pocket product being milled in one hit. The Inconel 718 tool took 120 hours of milling and was successfully completed with no errors.
